Aggravate the Ghost

We pelted the windows of the tower with everything we had, literally. We grabbed sticks, stones, debris from the explosion months ago. Some of our projectiles hit the intended target. Most of them did not, but all of them helped to aggravate the ghosts inside. At first nothing happened. Then we could hear restless rumblings coming from inside the building. After that a loud scream was emitted followed by the evacuation of a red mist from the upper floors. "Look at that!" I shout, pointing to the red mist, now in the sky. "That's him. He's leaving." Olivia says. She grabs my hand. We head towards an open window. "Come on. We don't have much time. Who knows when he'll be back."
