Decoding the Message

"The jig is up." What could that possibly mean? Was Pete involved with unsavory characters? Was this call a threat? Would someone bust down the door demanding for Pete? Would this character break our fingers until we squealed? Olivia attempted to calm my restless mind. She said it was most likely a prank call and nothing more. Initially I went with that. But it didn't take long for my wheels to spin once more. I imagined the most extreme, macabre scenarios. In the end I turned off all the lights, I shut all the blinds, and I ducked down low. Real low.
