Back to Zero

The wounded soldier slept while we frantically cleaned the shop.  Despite the fact that he wasn't exactly the friendliest person, and we were vastly unprepared, it gave us all a boost of confidence. We all had the feeling that if he came in off the streets that others might as well. We went at it all day.  Sweeping, repairing the front door, tossing out practically everything. It still wasn't exactly presentable by the time we were done. But at least it looked like it did before the explosion. Still no electricity or running water. Norm, however said he could fix that. I believed him this time. At least I wanted to. We were now out of the negatives and back to zero. It felt good. It felt really good.
