Scaling the Wall

Scaling the wall of a volcano is no easy task. The walls are at a steep, almost vertical incline. All the rocks are loose. You have to climb slowly. One wrong move, and you could fall. We climbed at a snails pace, maybe even slower. I was more than ok with that. Neither one of us had done rock climbing in the past, and this wasn't the time or place for lightning fast moneuvers. We both slipped a couple times. Obviously nothing to serious as I'm able to tell this story. We eventually made it to the top. By this point the sun was setting. It created a cotton candy sky. I would have loved to enjoy the scenery more, but I was taken aback by what also awaited us. Peter, Ruth and all the men with spears stood silently. Had they seen the whole thing, and if so why did they let us continue our climb? We stood in nervous anticipation. Olivia and I both expected them to attack somehow. Instead they all bowed down on one knee in unison.
