The New Edition

A disorganized desk, locker, or room is equal to a disorganized mind. Phrases former teachers would utter to me. At the time , I thought it was merely something annoying they would say to get under my skin. Now I'm ready to eat crow. There may be some truth to those words. I look upon our newly shelved books. To be fair they are all put away. I will give Malory credit for that. It's just harder than it was before to find anything. There is no rhyme or reason to how the books are shelved. "Joy of Cooking " is next to "100 Years of Solitude." My head is spinning from the clutter. I can sense Olivia is bothered as well. Malory can not read faces. She still holds the same enthusiasm. "What do you think?" She asks. "It's something." Olivia replies. "I couldn't figure out where to put the new books, so I made one big section for them." "And you put them all together." Olivia adds. Malory smiles. "Isn't it great?" "I feel it's lacking a few sections." I say. "Oh, like what?" She asks, worriedly. "Well, Young Adult for one." Malory is taken aback. "Excuse me?" "Young Adult." I repeat. "We do not permit pornographic material in the library." She says, firmly. "Its another name for teenage literature." Olivia calmly assures. Malory grabs "War and Peace" from the shelf. "You mean something like this?" "Not quite. Something more like Harry Potter." Olivia says. Malory cranes her neck at the huge shelf. "We might have that." Olivia glances at the books in disarray. "I hate to say it, but we will be redoing this."
